King Mohammed VI proceeded on Monday at the Hssain district of Salé, at the inauguration of the National Football Center Maâmoura after its renovation and reconstruction and dubbed “Mohammed VI Football Complex”.
Integrated structure dedicated to the performance and development of a high-level football practice, this complex was built by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
A concentration of expertise and know-how, the Complex Mohammed VI Football, built on a field of 29.3 ha, is intended to accommodate national teams in preparation camps, as well as foreign national teams who wish to perform their Concentration courses in Morocco.
The opening of this sports facility to foreign teams will also enable it to become a lever for the development of national tourism and promote the international influence of the Kingdom.
The new complex is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, in line with FIFA standards, making it one of the largest in the world. It houses residences for the national team A (66 rooms and 4 suites), for national teams U23 (3 blocks of accommodation with a capacity of 150 beds), U17 (45 rooms with a capacity of 80 beds ), and for goalkeepers (54 rooms with a total capacity of 98 beds).
It also features four natural grass football fields, three artificial turf football fields, a covered football pitch, a hybrid football field, a re-training room that can host futsal matches, and an outdoor Olympic-sized pool, two tennis courts and a Beach Soccer field.
The Complex also includes a new generation sports and performance medicine center that meets FIFA standards in the field and has physiotherapy, stress testing, dentistry, ophthalmology, trauma, psychology, podiatry, nutritional medicine, radiology, ultrasound, electrotherapy, bone densitometry, cryotherapy, in addition to an emergency mobile medical unit.
It also houses dining and relaxation areas, a 221-seat auditorium built to be the most flexible and flexible to accommodate various events (conferences or film screenings), as well as administrative buildings.
The completion of the Mohammed VI Complex of Football, which required a budget of 630 million dirhams, is part of the implementation of the national program for upgrading the infrastructure of national football which provides in its “Training Strengthening” component, in addition to the construction of this Complex, support for the establishment of National Club Training Centers (RCA, FUS, MAT, WAC, RSB), and the construction of 5 federal training centers. This is the Regional Football Center located in Saïdia (project under completion) and four others planned in Ifrane, Ksar Lakbir, Beni Mellal and Agadir (projects under study).
In its “Development of Football Practice” section, this ambitious program includes the renovation of 138 artificial grass football pitches (98 completed and 40 start-up) and 13 natural grass pitches, of which 12 have been completed and one under construction.
The inauguration by the Sovereign Mohammed VI Complex of Football is a mark of royal solicitude for all professionals of the national sport that will not fail to bring a new breath to Moroccan football.
