The company specializing in the production of medical textile articles, Lamatem, inaugurated Monday at the industrial area of Berrechid, its first industrial unit in Morocco. The site which required an investment of MAD 120 million currently employs 350 people and will create 850 direct and indirect positions. Its production capacity reaches 6 million units per month.
“This plant reinforces the production capacity of textile for medical use, the majority of which in Morocco is exclusively imported,” said the Minister of Industry, Moulay Hafid Elalamy.
The site covers an area of 13,800 m², including a clean room, the largest in North Africa, of 6,000 m² expandable to 8,500 m². The plant includes a storage shed with delivery and reception docks of 2,500 m² and is ISO 13495 certified. It will manufacture the types of clothing required in the different medical interventions (gowns, dredging, block pajamas, gowns, charlottes, hoods ..).
