Hakim Ziyech spends his final moments at Ajax Amsterdam. The Moroccan international, who is about to join Chelsea, said goodbye to his teammates and trained for the last time with his heart club.
Ziyech practiced with Ajax Amsterdam for the last time on Saturday, June 27 before joining the Premier League with Chelsea.
The Moroccan international, very attached to his club, spoke about his departure and said he was sad to leave his teammates whom he now considers as his friends.
“It sounds strange, but the realization is now that it’s really the last time. I always felt at home here. The championship, the cup victory, but also the little things and the humor on the training ground. I’m going to miss everything. And the boys are no longer really teammates, but friends,” he said.
A departure that also leaves a void for his coach, Erik Ten Hag who considers the Atlas Lion as an example for the youth of the club.
“He enters as a big man at Chelsea, a leading club in Europe. This is the example for young players here. First be the best here, win titles, and then take the step,” he added.
Ten Hag, already aware that it will be very difficult to find a worthy successor to the one who made the heyday of the Dutch club. “Hakim was very decisive and he has such specific qualities that cannot simply be found in other players”.
Since joining Ajax in 2016, Hakim Ziyech has played 165 games, scoring 48 goals and delivering 82 assists.
