According to several national news outlets, Laurent Blanc will meet Fouzi Lekjaâ, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) on Thursday to negotiate the terms of the contract that will bind him with the Federation to coach the national team. According to the same source, the official announcement of the new coach of the Atlas Lions will be Thursday night. Candidates closest to this stage: the French Laurent Blanc or the Serbian Vahid Halilhodžić. The latter was about to be named before the name of Laurent Blanc appears as probable future coach.
Aged 53, Laurent Blanc is one of the legends of French football. He coached Bordeaux from 2007 to 2010 with whom he won four titles in three years: the Championship, the Cup and two supercups.
He then led the French Under-21 team for two years, then Paris Saint-Germain, one of the most legendary clubs in France, from 2013 to 2016, with whom he won 11 titles, including 3 league titles, 3 French League Cup titles, two French Cup titles and 3 Supercup titles.
