The 19th edition of the festival “L’Boulevard”, event dedicated to budding artists, will be held, from 13 to 22 September, at the RUC stadium in Casablanca, with the participation of 52 artists and musical groups from Morocco and elsewhere.
During a press briefing on Tuesday evening, the festival director, Mohammed “Momo” Lamghari, said that this edition will see the participation of local troupes and artists from Benin, Senegal, Mauritania, Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Greece, the Netherlands, Brazil, the USA, France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, Indonesia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He explained that the “Tremplin” competition welcomes several groups and artists previously selected by a jury of recognized musicians and music professionals, who listened to all the models received by the festival’s organizing committee, and studied the candidacies received in the rap/hip hop, rock/metal and fusion/world categories to draw the sap: creativity, quality, originality.
For this edition, he said, the organizing committee received a total of 217 entries, of which 191 met the selection criteria required for the competition, namely 156 nominations in rap/hip hop, 14 in rock/metal, and 21 in merger, stating that the jury’s final choice fell on 8 groups in the first category, 6 in the second and 5 in the third.
Mr. Lamghrari also said that “L’pitch”, a space dedicated to actresses and socio-cultural actors, aspires to create meetings and forums for reflection and collaboration for the benefit of professionals in the cultural field Casablanca.
