Marrakech-Menara Airport: Air traffic sharply up 21.13% in 2019

Passenger traffic at Marrakech-Menara International Airport has recorded a tangible increase of 21.13% over 2018 over the past year, according to figures from the National Airport Office (ONDA).

Thus, the international airport of the ocher city welcomed a total of 6,396,394 passengers in 2019 against only 5,280,624 passengers a year earlier, said the same source.

In December alone, the number of passengers transiting through Marrakech-Menara airport reached 524,088 travelers compared to 490,297 in the same period of 2018, an increase of 6.89%, notes ONDA.

On the other hand, Marrakech-Menara airport captured 25.52% of overall passenger air traffic at the national level in 2019, thus occupying 2nd place behind Mohammed V airport in Casablanca (41.13%).

It should be noted that air traffic at Morocco airports increased by 11.18% in 2019 to reach a record of 25,059,840 passengers.

Marrakech-Menara International Airport celebrated its 6 millionth passenger on December 11 at a grand ceremony, organized on the initiative of ONDA.

This airport platform is ISO 9001 Version 2015 and ISO 14001 Version 2015 certified. It was also chosen in 2017 by users of the Sky Team alliance as the most beautiful airport in the world.
