The former boss of the bosses, Meriem Bensalah Chaqroun, was elected yesterday Friday, March 29, woman of the year by the association “Bouabate Fez”. Bensalah Chaqroun was awarded the “Fès Gate 2019” trophy by Driss El Azami El Idrissi, mayor of the spiritual capital, in the presence of several Moroccan and foreign personalities. Among them are Zahra Maafiri, Ahmed Abbadi, Latifa Chihabi, Francois Xavier Tilliette, Fatima Baroudi, Faouzi Skali, and many others. Organized in partnership with L’Economiste, “the Fès Gate 2019 trophies are awarded to women, women artists, talented and value creators, they can create emulation among younger generations,” says Leila Bennis, president of the association Bouabate Fez, initiator of the event. And to add: “the honored personalities all have one thing in common: an exceptional career”.
Thus, the 9th edition of the Fez Gate paid a vibrant tribute to women and men of exception. Among them are Kim Soyoung, president of the Korean International Cooperation Agency, Abbès Jirari, former royal advisor, Mohamed Horani, CEO of HPS, member of the EESC and former president of the CGEM, and Latéfa Taoufik, magistrate at the Court of Cassation.
The Fez Gate 2019 prize was also awarded to Bouchra Rahmouni Benhida, expert in geopolitics, Marouane Hajji, artist and ambassador of sacred music, Fatéma Hal, Anthropologist and writer, Salma Moukbil, CEO of Toyota Morocco, Touria Bouabid, President of the AMESIP Association, Asmae Khaoulani Hassani, Notary, and Khadija Boujanoui, Chairperson of the 2M Parity and Diversity Committee. “Fez in the image of its history is plural, proud of its diversity, tolerance, civilization, culture and heritage …”
“This is how we celebrated eleven personalities who through their efforts make possible the magic of Fez, city of lights, knowledge and tolerance,” says Leila Bennis.
