Migrants: 32 million euros of aid to Morocco

The Spanish Council of Ministers approved, on Friday, 32.3 million euros of aid to Morocco to support the Kingdom in the fight against illegal emigration. This assistance from international police cooperation, included in the budget of the Ministry of the Interior, will help finance the operations of Moroccan security forces, particularly in the purchase of equipment to control the borders.

This is an envelope of 30 million euros from the Provident Fund which had already been validated on 19 July. And 2.3 million euros already budgeted by the Spanish Ministry of the Interior, bringing the total envelope to 32.3 million euros.

At the beginning of July, Madrid had also approved an aid estimated at 26 million euros to allow Morocco to have vehicles and other equipment in the fight against illegal emigration and border control.
