Mohammed V Airport: Arrest of Chinese woman under international arrest warrant

Police officers operating at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca on Monday arrested a 51-year-old Chinese national woman in execution of an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities, in the context of a kidnapping case, said the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN).

Arrested upon arrival at Mohammed V airport aboard a flight from Abu Dhabi, the defendant is the subject of a red notice from Interpol after being sentenced in absentia by the French courts in a case kidnapping of his minor son he took out of French territory without the authorization of his ex-spouse, says the DGSN.

The respondent was placed in police custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, whereas the competent French authorities were informed of this arrest, pending the transfer procedure by the competent Moroccan judicial authorities.

This security operation is part of the efforts of the DGSN’s services to strengthen mechanisms for international cooperation in the security field and in the context of strengthening prosecution measures against persons subject to international search notices.
