Morocco, 5th world producer in 2018

Morocco was, in 2018, the fifth largest tomato producer in the world. According to Eurostat, the European statistics institute, the Kingdom produced 569,000 tons, or 6.72% of world production, worth 582 million euros.

The country was preceded by Iran, Spain, the Netherlands and Mexico. Last year, France was the top destination for Moroccan tomatoes, with 368,000 tons, followed by Russia and Spain, says the statistics agency.
