Morocco considers violations committed by Israel in Jerusalem “inadmissible”

Morocco has followed with deep concern the violent incidents in Jerusalem and the Al Aqsa Mosque, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad said on Sunday.

“Morocco, whose Sovereign chairs the Al Quds Committee, considers these violations to be an inadmissible act and likely to fuel tensions,” the ministry said in a statement.

The Kingdom, by the way, “considers that unilateral measures are hardly the solution, just as it calls for fostering dialogue and respect for rights”.

The ministry stressed that Morocco affirms the need to preserve the special status of the city of Al Quds and to protect the Islamic cachet of the holy city and the sanctity of the Al Aqsa Mosque.
