Morocco crosses the threshold of 7 million people fully vaccinated

Four hundred (400) new cases of coronavirus infection and 324 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said on Friday.

The number of people who received the first dose of the vaccine reached 9362000, while those fully vaccinated (1st and 2nd doses) exceeded the 7 million mark (7047704), the ministry said in its daily bulletin on the Covid-19 situation.

The new cases of infection bring the total number of infections since the first case reported in March 2020 to 523165. The number of people recovered has risen to 510623, a cure rate of 97.6%.

As for the total number of deaths, it rose to 9202 with 10 new deaths recorded in the regions of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (6), Casablanca-Settat (2), Souss-Massa (1) and Fès-Meknes (1).

New cases of contamination were identified in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (183), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (64), Marrakech-Safi (46), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (44), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (18), Souss-Massa (16), Fès-Meknès (10), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (8), Oriental (3), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (3), Drâa-Tafilalet (3) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (2).

There are 3340 active cases, while severe or critical cases have reached 207, including 6 under intubation and 101 under non-invasive ventilation.
