Morocco extends state of health emergency until December 10, 2020

Morocco has just extended again, for the sixth consecutive time, the state of health emergency. This decision is motivated by the sharp increase in contamination due to the coronavirus.

This new extension covers the period from November 10 at 6 p.m. to December 10 at 18, according to draft decree 2.20.788. It was decided as part of the government’s efforts to counter Covid-19, said Saaïd Amzazi, government spokesperson.

The same statement authorizes the Minister of the Interior to take strong measures with regard to the national epidemiological situation. As for the walis and the governors, they are invited to initiate the necessary executive measures at the level of a prefecture, province, commune or more, in order to maintain public health order.

As of Thursday, November 5, the Kingdom has 235310 cases of contamination, 3982 deaths and 193886 cured patients.
