Morocco has so far received 8 million doses of vaccine

Coming back to the national vaccination campaign, during the presentation of the bimonthly report on the epidemiological situation in Morocco, the head of the communicable diseases division at the epidemiology and disease control directorate, Abdelkrim Meziane Bellefquih noted that the operation is taking place in good conditions, letting it be known that Morocco received the 5th batch of vaccines until yesterday, bringing the number of doses acquired by the Kingdom to 8 million (7 million Astra Zeneca / 1 million Sinopharm).

One month after the launch of the campaign, some 3568670 people received the first dose of the vaccine, while the second dose was administered to 232980 beneficiaries.

Bellefquih also recalled that the vaccination campaign has been extended to benefit 60-64 year olds as well as people with chronic diseases who benefit from compulsory medical coverage schemes (CNOPS, CNSS) and RAMED, highlighting before the launch and institutionalization of the observation of new strains of the virus within the framework of a Consortium of laboratories, for the identification of variants of SARS-CoV2 circulating in Morocco.
