Morocco: Ministerial reshuffle in sight

A cabinet reshuffle may soon take place. According to sources, eight ministers and secretaries of state, including leaders within the PJD, should be ejected from their posts in April.

The sources said a minister close to the head of government Saadeddine El Othmani should leave the executive. It would be Mohamed Yatim, the Minister of Employment and Occupational Integration. If some will think of the history of the photos with his physiotherapist in Paris, the same sources underlines that his failure to advance the social dialogue would be behind his dismissal.

The negotiations with the unions have indeed been relegated to the Head of Government and the Ministry of the Interior who are trying somehow to find common ground.

Health Minister Anas Doukkali, appointed a year ago by King Mohammed VI, should also be removed from office, said sources. The decision was taken following the deterioration of the services of the various hospitals in the Kingdom.
