Thirty Moroccan operators and professionals in the fruit and vegetable sector take part in the International Fruit and Vegetable Fair “Fruit Logistica 2020”, which opened on Wednesday in Berlin, under the sign of quality and sustainability.
Coordinated by the Autonomous Establishment for Export Control and Coordination (Foodex) under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Moroccan participation is marked by the presentation of the national offer, which includes citrus fruits, red fruits, avocados and tropical fruits, among others.
This world-leading commercial forum in the field of fruit and vegetables is a precious opportunity for around thirty Moroccan companies and professional companies to establish contacts and conclude partnership contracts, whether at European level or other regions of the world, as well as renewing contacts with traditional customers.
Morocco is well ranked in terms of compliance with agricultural products, hygiene and quality standards, said El Mehdi El Alami, promotion director of Foodex, stressing that the institution’s mission is to monitor compliance with these standards. standards before exporting to the European and international market.
In this context, he highlighted the importance of Morocco’s presence in Germany, which is one of the most important markets on which Morocco is betting to develop its agricultural exports of all kinds.
He added that the Moroccan presence continues at this meeting, which includes professionals from the sectors of production and export of vegetables and fruits, reflects the progress made by the Kingdom in the agricultural sector, not only in terms quality but also in terms of sustainability, respect for the environment and promotion of organic farming, due to the growing global demand for these products.
For their part, several exhibitors at the Moroccan pavilion indicated, that participation in this annual forum constitutes an important opportunity to obtain new offers and conclude partnership contracts, with European professionals and those from from other parts of the world.
The Moroccan pavilion, which covers an area of more than 1,000 m², is not limited to the presentation of vegetables, fruits and services, but it also includes a space dedicated to the preparation and tasting of renowned Moroccan dishes international, and a corner dedicated to the preparation of Moroccan tea.
“Fruit Logistica 2020” is one of the largest fruit and vegetable trade fairs in Europe, with the participation of more than 3,300 exhibitors from more than 93 countries.
