Morocco represented at the Military World Games in China

Morocco is taking part in the 7th edition of the World Military Games, which kicked off on Friday, October 18, 2019 in Wuhan, China. At this big event, nearly 10,000 competitors from 109 countries are represented.

Morocco is present at this edition of 18 to 27 October 2019 World Military Games, with a sports delegation of 50 soldiers. For this 7th edition, four disciplines are selected for the participation of Moroccan representatives. Like the previous editions, the Kingdom does not intend to do figuration.

China is participating, with a large delegation of 553 members, in this international competition where some 9,308 athletes will give the best of themselves in 329 events and 27 disciplines.

At this edition, tennis, men’s gymnastics, table tennis and badminton are entering the Games for the first time.

As President of the Central Military Commission, Chinese President Xi Jinping kicked off the sporting event.

During a meeting with senior military officials representing the participating countries, the Chinese President recalled the theme of this edition, namely “Military glory, world peace”.

In addition, he said that these World Games, initiated since 1995, aim, on the one hand, to encourage participants to show perseverance and fair play, and to strengthen, on the other hand, the links between different cultures, while contributing to the establishment of peace, everywhere in the world.
