Morocco to authorize AstraZeneca and Sinopharm vaccines

Morocco is preparing to authorize AstraZeneca and Sinopharm vaccines. The Medicines Registration Committee met on Thursday to launch the authorization process.

According to an authorized source, the kingdom preferred to wait for authorization in the countries of origin before launching this procedure. After obtaining confirmation from the United Kingdom and China, the marketing authorization commission will grant this authorization within a week, the same source said.

In total, 65 million doses of vaccine have been ordered, including 25 million AstraZeneca vaccine and 40 million Sinopharm vaccine doses. After going through all the other steps, the health authorities keep in contact with the suppliers to obtain a vaccine delivery schedule.
