Moulay Rachid, Lalla Meryem and Lalla Oum Kaltoum at the Marrakesh International Film Festival

Prince Moulay Rachid, President of the Foundation of the International Film Festival of Marrakesh, accompanied by Princess Lalla Meryem and Princess Lalla Oum Kaltoum, presided, yesterday at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakesh, a dinner hosted by King Mohammed VI, on the occasion of the official opening of the 17th edition of the Marrakesh International Film Festival.

On their arrival, Prince Moulay Rachid, Princess Lalla Meryem and Princess Lalla Oum Kaltoum reviewed a Auxiliary force detachment, which paid the honors before being greeted by the Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicrafts and Social Economy, Mohamed Sajid, the Minister of Culture and Communication, Mohamed El Aaraj, the Wali of the Marrakesh-Safi region and governor of the prefecture of Marrakesh, the president of the Marrakesh-Safi region, and the president of the Commune of Marrakesh.

Moulay Rachid, Lalla Meryem and Lalla Oum Kaltoum were also hailed by the two vice-presidents of the Marrakesh International Film Festival Foundation, Faïçal Laraïchi and Sarim El Haq Fassi Fihri.

They were also greeted by the Councilor of the President of the Foundation of the International Film Festival of Marrakesh, Melita Toscan Du Plantier, the Artistic Director of the Festival, the President’s Advisor at the Festival Foundation, the General Secretary of the Festival as well as than by the Treasurer General and the General Coordinator of the International Film Festival of Marrakesh.

Subsequently, Prince Moulay Rachid, Princess Lalla Meryem and Princess Lalla Oum Kaltoum attended the VIP lounge where the jury, foreign stars and foreign and national partners were presented.

Placed under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, the 17th edition of the Marrakesh International Film Festival was opened on Friday evening at the Congress Palace of the Ocher City, in the presence of a group of stars of the 7th National and International Art, and great figures from the worlds of culture, media and the arts.
