For the third year in a row, the US Embassy is launching its summer camp initiative “My Summer of Discovery”, which aims to encourage Moroccan youth to achieve its goals.
This edition will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Thus, the camps will be organized under the sign of science and technology, leadership and entrepreneurship. With American accommodations, the goal is to offer a rich experience to the 140 young Moroccan participants. Thus, participants from both camps will receive the special visit of Dr. Ayanna Howard, a robotics expert and a former NASA engineer who helped design NASA’s Mars Rover program.
The three camps named “Camp of Innovation and Science”, “Be Inspired Camp” and “Ignite: Design Thinking Camp”, will be managed respectively by the Association of Moroccan Scouts (El Harhoura, Temara), the association Jazz 3/4 (Tinguir) and the Communication Association for Educational and Cultural Animation (Agadir).
Note that Dr. Ayanna Howard, a former NASA engineer, will visit the El Harhoura and Agadir camps on July 22 and 23, respectively. She will lead practical workshops in robotics.
