Nearly 7 million people received their first dose in Morocco

A total of 397 new cases of coronavirus infection and 378 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said on Tuesday, stressing that the number of people who received the first dose of the vaccine has reached 6768161.

There are 4581385 people who have been fully vaccinated (1st and 2nd doses), the ministry said in its daily bulletin on the Covid-19 situation.

This new report brings to 515420 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in March 2020, while the number of people recovered has risen to 503861, a cure rate of 97.8%.

To date, the total number of deaths is 9105, after a single case of death recorded in Casablanca, the ministry said, noting that the case fatality rate is 1.8%.

New contaminations were identified in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (256), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (34), Marrakech-Safi (33), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (26), Souss-Massa (17), Daraâ-Tafilalet (12), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (8), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (4), Guelmim-Oued Noun (3), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (2) and Oriental (2).

Active cases numbered 2454, while severe or critical cases reached 199, including 8 under intubation and 104 cases under non-invasive ventilation.
