And a new gas discovery for SDX Energy. The British company has announced that the OYF-2 well in which it holds a 75% interest has been drilled to a depth of 1,210 m and has encountered commercial quantities of gas exceeding pre-drilling estimates. The discovery also confirms that the company’s central production area extends to the north. The company’s estimates are based on 1.3 to 1.9 billion cubic feet of recoverable gas. The well will be tested in February.
“The thickness and quality of the reservoir were better than expected before drilling,” says SDX Eerngy, who will also launch the drilling of another well, the BMK-1, located approximately 11 km north of OYF-2.
“After BMK-1, another nearby well and two other potentially open wells at Lalla Mimouna will be drilled to complete the campaign in March,” said the British company.
