OCP: Outotec for the construction of a new acid plant

OCP Group has signed a contract worth around 880 million dirhams (80 million euros) with the Finnish company Outotec for the construction of sulfuric acid plants in the Jorf Lasfar complex. This contract covers the engineering, supply and construction of the plant, which is based on Outotec’s sulfur combustion system.

The new acid plant will incorporate state-of-the-art technologies such as the HEROS heat recovery system and a converter, absorption towers and acid distribution system made from Edmeston stainless steel alloy SX, says the Finnish company.
