It’s official! FC Barcelona have enlisted Atlético striker Antoine Griezmann, after paying his bailout estimated at 120 million euros.
The 28-year-old signed a five-year contract until June 30, 2024 with the Catalan club. The new release clause of Griezmann has been set at 800 million euros. He becomes the player with the highest penalty clause, ahead of Messi (700 million euros).
His presentation to the press should take place Sunday, July 14, report several Spanish media.
Born on March 21, 1991 in Mâcon, France, Antoine Griezmann is one of the best players in the world at his post. The 2018 world champion (72 caps and 29 goals) recently announced publicly that he wanted to take on a new challenge after five years at Atletico, where he won the Europa League and UEFA Super Cup.
Asked about the identity of the striker who could replace Griezmann, his former coach, Simeone, smiling, said: “Someone who plays very well in three quarters of the field, scores 20 goals per year and who is good market. It’s very difficult.”
And to add: “First of all, I am grateful to him as a football player, to the player we have had for five years and to what he has given us. We can not judge his decision. We helped him grow during this period.”
