Official: VAR adopted in Morocco

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has obtained the authorization of the International Football Association Board (IFAB) to use the technique of Video Assistance to Arbitration (VAR) in the semi-finals of the 2018-2019 Throne Cup.

This is the match between Difaa Hassani Jadidi at Tihad Athletic Sport in Tangier and between Hassania of Agadir and Moghreb of Tetouan in Marrakech, the FRMF said in a statement.

The Kingdom of Morocco thus becomes the first country on the African continent to use the VAR technique in local competitions, the same source said.

The Central Commission of Arbitration, presented at a meeting of the steering committee, held last Monday at the headquarters of the Federation, a presentation on the latest preparations for the application of the technique of Video Assistance to Arbitration (VAR) semi-finals and final of the 2018-2019 Throne Cup.
