It’s a first. A direct line connecting China to Morocco will be set up soon. The information was confirmed by the new director general of the Moroccan National Office of Tourism (ONMT), Adil El Fakir, during a press conference held Tuesday in Casablanca.
This direct line will ensure the accessibility of this destination to Chinese tourists and will drain a more diversified clients. Both lines are expected to be launched by the end of 2019, according to the same source.
The inhabitants of the municipalities of Beijing and Shanghai will be the most concerned by this new airline. In addition, this launch will be carried out at the same time as a major digital marketing campaign in China, to push a large number of visitors to choose the destination of Morocco.
The Chinese market plays a major role for the development of tourism in Morocco with an exceptional growth of arrivals in three years since this number has increased from 15,000 in 2015 to 180,000.
