Over 5.6 million people fully vaccinated in Morocco

The number of people fully vaccinated against COVID-19 reached 5640992 in Morocco, the Moroccan Ministry of Health said in a statement.

So far, a total of 8772982 first doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Morocco, the statement added.

The North African country launched a nationwide vaccination campaign on Jan. 28 after the arrival of the first shipment of China’s Sinopharm vaccines.

Meanwhile, Morocco’s COVID-19 tally rose to 519610 as 394 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, and the number of recoveries increased by 403 to 507528, the statement said.

The death toll from the coronavirus in Morocco rose to 9154 with seven fatalities added during the last 24 hours, while 216 remained in intensive care units, it said.
