Plug and Play plans to open an office in Morocco

Silicon Valley Venture Capital (VC) company Plug and Play plans to open its first African office in Morocco this year as well as another in Johannesburg (South Africa).

The accelerator – which is behind names such as Google, Logitech and PayPal – made the announcement in a series of Covid-19 webinars held last week.

Former Goldman Sachs investment banker Grace Legodi will head the Plug and Play office in South Africa, it said, noting that the accelerator currently has 36 locations around the world.

“Plug and Play marketing director Allison Romero confirmed yesterday in an email that the accelerator plans to open two offices in Africa, namely Morocco and Johannesburg.”

Plug and Play has an ecosystem of 20,000 startups, 400 large partner companies and more than 180 venture capital companies spread over 36 international sites.
