Pope Francis leaves Rome for Morocco

Pope Francis left Rome’s Fiumicino Airport on Saturday morning for an official two-day visit to the Kingdom at the invitation of King Mohammed VI.

During this visit, the Pope is accompanied by a large delegation including eminent personalities of the Holy See.

Based on the religious status and spiritual responsibility assumed by Amir Al-Mouminine and His Holiness the Pope, the historic meeting between King and Pope will promote the values of brotherhood, peace and tolerance among peoples and nations and to consolidate interreligious dialogue, understanding and cohabitation, said a statement from the Ministry of the Royal House, the Protocol and the Chancellery.

This visit will be marked by intense activities of King Mohammed VI and Pope Francis.
