Portuguese justice on Tuesday sentenced a 65-year-old Moroccan man for recruiting young Moroccans for the terrorist organization Daesh.
The accused, Abdesselam Tazi, had been detained for more than two years in Portugal on seven counts. He is notably accused of having financed the recruitment of young fighters for Daesh by means of false credit cards. The number of young recruits for the terrorist organization has not been specified.
Abdesselam Tazi is accused of recruiting a certain Hicham El Hanafi, a young Moroccan who has traveled to several European countries and is currently detained in France for planning an attack in December 2016.
