The caravan promoting the 12th edition of the African Games, which will be held from August 19 to 31 in several cities of the Kingdom, was launched Monday in Rabat.
Set up by the Organizing Committee of the African Games in Rabat, the mobile caravan will crisscross several cities, from 05 to 16 August, with the aim of promoting the various disciplines on the program of this competition to the general public through a musical entertainment, contests and the sale of derivatives.
Led by the African Games mascot, the caravan, composed of two vehicles, will cross the cities of Kenitra, Meknes, Fez, Nador, Oujda, Saidia, Al Hoceima, M’diq, Tangier, Assilah, Settat, Marrakech, Agadir, Essaouira, El Oualidia, Safi and El Jadida.
The director general of this edition, Abdelatif Abbad, indicated that this caravan is part of the program put in place by the organizing committee aiming to make this great sporting event on the ground known to the general public through entertaining animations.
The preparations for this great sporting competition are well underway, Abbad said, noting that the organizing committee is “very satisfied” with the work done over the last few months, particularly with regard to the upgrading of the main sports facilities. For his part, the president of the Association of African Sports Confederations (AASC), Ahmed Nasser, said that this caravan will shed light on this sporting event which will be marked by the participation of thousands of athletes involved in 29 disciplines, including 17 qualifiers at the Tokyo Olympics.
