Renault impacted by global economic conditions

The global car market is not posting its best days. In the first half, global sales fell 7.1%, affecting several automakers. The units sold by the Renault group fell by 6.7% to 1.9 million vehicles.

The manufacturer, however, maintains a market share of 4.4% worldwide. In Africa, Renault is also strengthening its leadership with 19.3% market share and nearly 110,000 vehicles sold, “thanks in particular to its performance in Morocco, South Africa and Egypt”. In Morocco, the market share remains at a historical level of 43.3%. “Dacia maintains its leadership with the success of Logan and Dokker. The brand Renault comes in second place with Clio, the best-selling vehicle in Morocco,” says the manufacturer.

And while the group’s sales are stable in Europe (1.07 million units), they fell sharply in the Chinese market (-23%) and in the Africa-Middle East region India & Pacific (-27.7%).
