Renewable energy: Voltalia increases its capital

Voltalia, the French specialist in renewable energy, has successfully completed its capital increase operation. The overall amount is 376 million euros. The capital increase will result in the issue of 40,829,520 new shares at a unit subscription price of € 9.20.

“The great success of this capital increase provides us with additional resources to accelerate our growth in the competitive renewable energy market,” said Voltalia Managing Director Sébastien Clerc.

In detail, the company intends to invest at least 300 million euros of funds raised in the construction of 1.6 GW of new production capacity, beyond 1 GW installed in 2020. On this envelope, and in accordance with the With a memorandum of understanding with the EBRD, Voltalia plans to invest at least EUR 50 million in own funds in the Bank’s operating countries such as Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt or Greece.
