As of June 15, the date for the resumption of international flights is now known. The new NOTAM (notices to airmen) fixes the recovery on July 10.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has extended for the fifth time the suspension of international air traffic until July 10. From airport sources, the publication of a new NOTAM does not mean that flights resume from the date fixed.
According to a manager of a handling company at Mohammed V airport in Casablanca, a NOTAM represents a technical indicator intended for all airport operators. It allows them to update and readjust their information systems. According to his explanations, “this indicator gives a little more visibility to airlines, handlers, catering operators, etc., so as to be able to ensure continuity of service”.
For the time being, civil aviation and the Ministry of Tourism and Air Transport have not yet confirmed this next resumption of international flights.
As for domestic flights, they can only resume after the lifting of confinement set for July 10. The majority of domestic lines are departing from Casablanca and Rabat airports, located in zone 2, within which travel restrictions will be maintained, at least until July 10.
