The national airline, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), is preparing to reopen its internal routes in mid-June.
In all, four internal routes, Dakhla, Laâyoune, Agadir and Oujda will be reopened with 2 weekly flights. As for international flights, air traffic could resume gradually from July 2. According to the same source, 30% of RAM’s workforce will have to reach their offices on Thursday, June 11. The others will continue to serve the company via telework due to health security measures.
Faced with elected officials from the House of Representatives on Monday, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport and the Social Economy, Nadia Fettah Alaoui hinted that her department is working on developing a series of recommendations, in order to guarantee appropriate working conditions for flight operations, protect passengers and users and finally ensure the protection of the safety and security of civil aviation. This is part of the work and the opening of the airspace.
