Russian wanted by Interpol arrested in Casablanca

A Russian wanted by Belgian police and Interpol was arrested on Wednesday when he arrived at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.

The 48-year-old man is subject to an international arrest warrant issued by the Belgian judicial authorities for the enforcement of a judgment against him, says the DGSN.

On his arrival from Turkey, his score revealed that he was the subject of a red notice issued by Interpol following his conviction for involvement, in 2014, in a case of armed robbery in Bruges, says the DGSN. The security services have, moreover, notified the Belgian judicial authorities with a view to the extradition of the Russian national.
