SAMIR refinery: 30 offers and 0 buyer

“Since the company went into bankruptcy in June 2016, the Casablanca Commercial Court has received 30 tenders for the takeover of the refinery. Prospective purchasers receive conflicting signals from the government,” said Houcine El Yamani, SG of CDT-Samir.

The latter criticizes Aziz Rabbah, Minister of Energy his outings about the SAMIR, calling it “obsolete”. “In the absence of a clear state position on the future of the refining industry, it is difficult to convince buyers,” he observes.
