At least five people died and 23 others were injured, Thursday evening in a scramble during a concert in Algiers by Algerian rapper Soolking, according to media sources and hospital.
Three young women and two young men between the ages of 20 and 25 were killed during this tragedy and their bodies were stored in the night of Thursday to Friday at Mustapha University morgue “pending the autopsy”, said the director general of the hospital, Abdeslam Bennana.
He said that of the wounded, only some were kept under observation, the others, with minor injuries, left the hospital.
The tragedy occurred around 8 pm in front of one of the secondary entrances to the stadium August 20 where the crowd was crowding to attend the Soolking concert, an event that drew some 30,000 spectators, according to concordant testimony. The concert was not interrupted and continued for more than four hours.
