Spain calls its citizens to “leave the Tindouf camps”

Spain urged its citizens to “leave the Tindouf camps as soon as possible” because of “the increased instability in northern Mali and the increase in the activity of terrorist groups which undermines security in the region”.

The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, which warned Spanish nationals last Wednesday to visit the Tindouf camps in Algeria, said in an urgent note that MINURSO “warns against the imminent risk of kidnappings and attacks against Spanish nationals in the camps”.

Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles said the UN and even Algeria “confirmed” the anti-terror alert issued last week by the Spanish government.
