Spain sets conditions for Morocco to open borders

Spanish government spokeswoman Maria Jesus Montero said that her country will only open its borders with Morocco on one condition.

Spain agrees to open its borders with Morocco only if there is a reciprocal agreement allowing the Spaniards to travel to the neighboring country of North Africa.

Morocco is on the final list of 15 “safe countries” to which Europe reopens its borders from Wednesday July 1. Ambassadors from EU and Schengen countries on Tuesday approved the list.

It remains to be seen whether once the kingdom reopens its borders, the Spanish will be allowed to go there.
