Statistics: Agreement between Morocco and the ILO

The Director General of Statistics and National Accounts of the High Commissioner for Planning (HCP), Mohammed Bircharef, and the Acting Director of the Office of the International Labor Organization (ILO) for Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia and Mauritania, Halim Hamzaoui, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the HCP and the ILO to formalize and strengthen their cooperation on labor market statistics.

Both parties welcomed the excellent relationship between the two institutions and agreed to further strengthen them in the production, compilation, standardization and publication of labor market statistics, in particular at the level of indicators related to Sustainable Development, in particular Objective No. 8: Decent Work and Growth, for which the ILO is the depository.

Recognizing the importance of this kind of statistics for public policies, the two institutions have agreed to combine their efforts for better access, analysis and use of labor market statistics.
