The amount of drugs seized yesterday in Tangier Med reached 15.2 tons, said Thursday the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN).
In a statement released Wednesday, the DGSN first reported a discovery of 3.7 tons of cannabis in Tangier. In total, nearly 29 tons of drugs have been seized in Tangier Med since last Saturday.
The first elements of the investigation reveal the involvement of a cross-border criminal network in the trafficking of these large quantities of drugs, explains the DGSN. This network is believed to have created fictitious companies to hide its illegal activities and maintain links with criminal networks in Morocco or Europe, she said. It should be noted that the investigations are continuing in order to challenge all the individuals involved in this case.
