An investment agreement was signed on Tuesday in Rabat by the Minister of Industry, Trade, Green and Digital Economy, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, and the senior vice-president of TE’s Automotive activity Connectivity, Matthias Lechner.
It relates to the realization of a factory of the said company in Tanger Automotive City for the production of connectors for the automotive sector, said a press release from the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Green and Digital Economy.
This project, which is part of the development in Morocco of this world leader in connectivity solutions operating in the automotive and aeronautical sectors, represents an investment worth 147.25 million dirhams. which will generate 500 new direct jobs.
The same source stresses that this new investment testifies to the competitiveness and attractiveness of the Morocco market and attests to its affirmed positioning as a global platform for the production and export of components and motor vehicles, thanks to the enlightened vision of the King Mohammed VI.
TE Connectivity is thus carrying out its 4th project, as part of the Industrial Acceleration Plan, the press release said, recalling that this company created in 2016 two factories, one for the production of connectors and the other for the injection of connection. The following year, 2017, its third factory specializing in the molding and assembly of connectors for trucks was born.
