The city of Rabat selected for Basketball Africa League

The city of Rabat is among the hosts of the first Basketball Africa League tournament (BAL) initiated by the NBA and FIBA.

The capital, Cairo, Dakar, Lagos, Luanda, and Tunis (or Monastir) will host meetings of this mini-championship that will pit 12 African clubs. The twelve “franchises” will be divided into two conferences, with meetings contested in three cities per conference.

At the end of this phase, the top six teams will play another championship where the top four will qualify for the “Final Four”. The first Final Four will be held in the Rwandan capital Kigali.
