The United Arab Emirates inaugurated, on Wednesday, a consulate general in Laâyoune. A 9th diplomatic representation of a foreign country opened in the capital of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region.
This inauguration, chaired by the head of Moroccan diplomacy Nasser Bourita and his Emirati counterpart, comes after the telephone conversation held on October 27 between King Mohammed VI and Crown Prince Mohamed Ben Zayed.
Last week, a royal cabinet statement announced that the UAE’s crown prince promised the ruler to open a consulate in the largest city in the Sahara.
An inauguration of a first Arab country which should encourage others close to Morocco to follow suit.
