The 1st Dou Al Hijja of the year 1441 of the Hegira corresponds to Wednesday July 22, 2020 and Eid Al Adha will be celebrated on Friday July 31, the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs announced on Tuesday.
In a statement, the ministry indicates that the lunar crescent announcing the month of Dou Al Hijja in the year 1441 was observed Tuesday evening (July 21) and therefore Eid Al Adha will be celebrated on 10 Dou Al Hijja 1441 corresponding to July 31, 2020.
Recall that the Ministry of the Interior has taken a series of measures for the organization of the operation of sacrifice on the occasion of the feast of Eid Al Adha 1441, and this within the framework of the concern of the public authorities of implement preventive measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19).
In a press release issued on July 17, the ministry indicated that in order to guarantee the appropriate conditions for the conduct of this occasion in full compliance with the health provisions adopted by the competent authorities, authorizations will be issued by local authorities to butchers professionals and seasonal people performing the sacrifice ritual, specifying that these people will first be subjected to tests for covid-19, in coordination with the competent health authorities.
They will also be equipped with the tools and products likely to guarantee compliance with the preventive measures in force, such as protective masks, antiseptic and disinfectant products.
In this regard, the Ministry of the Interior called on all citizens to take care during the sacrifice to deal only with people with authorizations issued by local authorities and not to resort to any other person, for protect their health and safety and avoid the risk of infection.
