The new Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva would be expected soon in Morocco. She is expected to arrive in the coming days as part of a visit that will also guide her to other Maghreb countries. Georgieva, who was elected head of the IMF in 2019, will hold high-level meetings with Moroccan officials.
During this visit, many files will be studied, the renewal of the prevention and liquidity line as the focal point of this visit as well as the worksite of the widening of the liberalization of the dirham. The preparations for the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, expected in October 2021 in Marrakech, would also be scheduled during this stay.
For the time being, the manager and the Fund have not yet officially announced the trip.
