Algerian fans spent a sleepless night after the Fennecs won the 2019 African Cup of Nations. Returning from Egypt, Djamel Belmadi’s men marched through the streets of Algiers and shared their victory with thousands of fans who were present in the capital.
The players and the staff will then take part in a ceremony organized by Algerian President Abdelkader Bensalah at the Palais des Congrès, before continuing the festivities on the pitch of the stadium on July 5, 1962 with their fans.
Recall that Algeria tamed Senegal Friday night in the final played on the lawn of the international stadium in Cairo (1-0). It was Baghdad Bounedjah who scored the only goal of the match two minutes after kickoff. Algeria managed to win the second title in its history after that of 1990.
