The NBA announces an African league in 2020

The NBA plans to launch an African Basketball League (BAL) in 2020 in collaboration with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

This league should bring together 12 clubs from 9 countries (Morocco, Kenya, Egypt, Angola, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Senegal and Tunisia). A country may not be represented by more than two clubs, depending on the format of the competition. It aims to develop basketball in Africa.

Former US President Barack Obama has also planned to invest in this project. Note that a tournament will be organized this year to determine the teams that will take part in this competition.
