The Royal Navy rescues 247 migrants

Some 247 migrants, mostly sub-Saharan, were rescued at sea on Friday night by the coast guards of the Royal Navy.

This operation took place in the Mediterranean. The migrants were on board makeshift boats to reach Spain. After their rescue, they received first aid on board Royal Navy units, before being returned “safe and sound” to the northern ports of the Kingdom.
